FLASH RESULTS TEXAS STAFF Mike Takaha Mike Takaha is in his sixth year with Flash Results Texas after 20 seasons as an assistant track and field coach at the University of Houston. He joined Flash Results Texas in 2002 and took over the operation of the group in 2004. He brings a wealth of track & field and statistical experience and is responsible for Hy-Tek operations at meets. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Takaha directed meet operations for UH home meets, including several conference championships and the 1983 NCAA Championships and the 1989 USA/Mobil Outdoor Championships. He also served as a press officer for USA Track and Field at several international and national championships. A native of San Francisco, Calif., Takaha is a 1976 UCLA graduate with a degree in kinesiology. David O'Conor (FinishLynx Operator) David O'Conor is a USATF certified fully-automatic timing official. He has over 12 years of experience with the FinishLynx timing systems, beginning at the University of Houston. He joined Flash Results Texas when we started in 2002. He also works at various road races in the Houston area for Ryan's Race Management.
O'Conor competed for the University of Houston in 1980-82, specializing in the steeplechase, where he still ranks third on the school's all-time list at 8:50.55.
